IDILIQ Hotels & Resorts proudly celebrates reaching the milestone of donating to over 1,000 guests in need free holiday accommodation since the launch of its pioneering IDILIQ Charity Holidays project in 2016. Partnering with a variety of charities to offer space in its collection of 9 international resorts across Europe and Florida, the Charity Holidays initiative is designed to make a lasting difference to those who most deserve some respite and escapism, including children with terminal illnesses and severe disabilities, bereaved families, unpaid carers and military personnel with PTSD. Since its inception, IDILIQ has worked with charities including Dreams Come True, When You Wish Upon A Star and Carers Trust, to name a few, and is now encouraging other hoteliers and the wider travel industry community to follow in its footsteps and donate space to those in need.

The campaign to donate holidays to those in need has a variety of famous and influential supporters, including long-term Ambassador Jennie Bond (Journalist and former BBC Royal Correspondent), MP Penny Mordaunt (Lord President of the Council and Leader of the House of Commons) as the newest supporter and even The Princess Royal (President of Carers Trust) herself, so there has never been a better time for the travel industry to get on board. The Princess Royal has personally pledged her support and desire to encourage hoteliers to take action in a heartfelt letter sent on behalf of Carers Trust, pleading “Please consider giving families the opportunity to have a respite break and contact charities in your region”.

The appreciation from the families helped by the IDLIQ Charity Holidays project is immense and there are a variety of glowing testimonials as a result of this, including one family stating that being offered this holiday gave them the opportunity to create memories together that were “beyond precious”, allowed their child to “blossom before their eyes”, and proved that there is more to life than “hospitals, medicines, and treatments”. This further cements the profound impact both IDLIQ and the wider travel community have the potential to have if they come together to help those in need.
